My [_gvimrc] file is (in some ways) like the proverbial "Third-Rail" so that...
----------- Most of the time, i try not to get near it.


" Vim with all enhancements
source $VIMRUNTIME/vimrc_example.vim

" Use the internal diff if available.
" Otherwise use the special 'diffexpr' for Windows.
se guifont=Consolas:h18
se ai
se ic <----------- i've also tried [SmartCase]
se so=0
se noundofile
se et
se spell

ab qq q! <----------------- i use this pretty often. Very Useful !!!

ab wt w! ~/temp.vi <----------------- i most often use it as :.,.wt or :.,.+3 wt
ab rt r ~/temp.vi

i had trouble remembering so, et, ... and

i was parsing noundofile as N-oun-D-ofile, Noun-Do-File, ....
:set scrolloff=5 The above command can be abbreviated as :set so=5. Entering :set so=0 restores the default behavior so the cursor can be moved to any line in the window without scrolling.
... set et ( :set expandtabs) does not change the tabs already existing in the file, one has to do :retab . For example: :set et :retab. and the ...
_______________________ Does Vim have a [Retro feel] ? (it certainly does, to me)


and speaking of the [Retro Look] of the Fixed-width characters....
